Too long...
Wow, it's been a while since I last accessed this blog. So much has changed since then. I may update the look of this site and hopefully remember to post more often. Since I have a new digital SLR camera, I will most likely use it to post pics I have taken. I'm getting better at the pics I have taken, so hopefully I will get some nice pics on here soon.

You are Han Solo
| Even though you've been described as reckless, selfish and cocky, you're the type of person others love to be around. People like you because you're a scoundrel. ![]() |

Some old art I finally got around to uploading

The Bobcat was taken from a picture I found in a magazine back in Highschool, sheesh that was a while ago. The background was from my imagination.

I always loved lighthouses and when I got the opportunity to do this as my final art grade in my Senior year in high school, I jumped at the chance. It took me over a month and a half to finish this as it was also done in stipple. I figured I placed close to a million dots out of a 0.5mm pen tip onto this picture. It did earn me an A+ on my Final. I still remember my Art teacher's name too, Bobbi Pederson.

Another favorite of mine, and the Space Shuttle was still new and unsullied when I made this one. The Challenger accident was still a few years away. I always wanted to do another with the faces of the seven Astronauts that died showing faintly in the sky, but it was overdone by too many people in too many types of media, so I never did it.
I'll have some more artwork to display in the near future. Now that I have my Wacom tablet, I plan on taking some of my old pencil drawings and redoing them in color and more realistic (I hope). I'm still learning all that I can do with it yet.

Happy New Year 2010
Well, last year was a big bust, so here's hoping this year is a whole lot better. I'm not going to write down my New Year resolutions because I think that is lame. So if you're wondering what they are, you'll just have to suffer with not knowing.
I'm hoping this year is a lot better than the last, in a whole lot of ways. Actually the entire last decade sucked big time, so its time for a new decade full of better jobs, better ties to family, and better everything. Now if I just knew how to go about achieving all of that, I would be rich.
Happy New Year, and we'll see how often I post to this in the coming year.

In Loving Memory July 7, 1941 - June 13, 2009
I thought I would have a few years before I would be doing this, but then, I guess we all do. I apologize for waiting so long to put this up here. It has been a difficult month. My Father, William Erby, passed away at 9:45 AM MDT on June 13, 2009 after a long fight with Parkinson's, Diabetes and Heart Disease.
He was born on July 7th, 1941, in St. Louis, MO. where he lived before moving to California as a teenager and joining the U.S. Air Force in 1957. He married his wife Donna in 1961 while stationed in Canada. Together they had four children, Treena, Tammy, William (me), and Andrea. After retiring from the Air Force in 1979, he moved our family to California before finally settling us in Colorado in the fall of 1985.
Before Parkinson's set in he was an avid hunter, fisher, golfer and ham radio operator. He continued to enjoy golfing until this past spring, when a fall broke his hip and set about the events leading to his passing. In late May, his heart stopped and it took the combined efforts of myself and the paramedics 25 minutes to get it going again. He spent a week in a coma before astonishing the doctors by coming out of it, as they swore he was too brain-damaged to ever wake up. A week later he took a turn for the worse and passed the next day.
He is survived by his Wife, four children, ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, the last of which was born 7 days before he passed. He was tickled to learn that this great-grandson had been named after him.
Good bye Dad, I love you and I will always miss you.
